The Baseball Reliquary – Shrine of the Eternals
On September 29, 2024, Effa Manley was awarded the highest honor bestowed by the Baseball Reliquary for her pioneering accomplishments as the co-manager of the Newark Eagles team in the Negro Baseball Leagues. In addition to her daily management of the team, she was also honored for her Civil Rights activism and for assistance with helping her players transition from the Negro Leagues to National League teams. 2020 SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) Dorothy Seymour Mills Lifetime Achievement Award
On September 12, 2020, Effa Manley was awarded the Dorothy Seymour Mills Lifetime Achievement Award. This honor was bestowed to Effa for not only her achievements in baseball, but her civil rights and social justice work. More here (please note you will be leaving this website).
